Varicose Veins
Usually appear in the thighs or lower legs as bluish veins raised above the
skin's surface. These veins can cause discomfort through aching pain,
swelling, burning and itching around the vein.
Varicose veins are usually caused by the weakening of the veins valves.
Normally, these valves prevent blood from falling back down the veins as
blood is being pumped back into the heart. If the valves fail to perform
correctly, the result can be a settling of blood within the vein and the
creation of varicose veins.
